Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to data when you use ip.tuti.lt — in plain language, with nothing hidden in the small print.

Last updated: 1 November 2026

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

IP.TUTI.LT (the “Website”) is a free IP address lookup tool operated by Tuti.lt (“we”, “us”, “our”). This policy applies to all pages of the Website, including the homepage, how-to guide, FAQ, about, contact, and these legal pages. It does not apply to third-party services that the Website links to or relies on for data; each of those has its own privacy policy, listed below.

For any privacy matter you can reach us at info@tuti.lt.

2. The short version

  1. No accounts, no forms, no stored profiles. The Website has no registration, no comment sections, and no database of visitors. We never learn who you are unless you choose to email us.
  2. The tool works in your browser. Results are fetched live by your own device from public lookup services. Your IP address is sent to those services so they can answer, but it is not stored by this Website.
  3. Anonymous analytics only. We use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and understand which content is useful. It uses cookies on your device; we do not build advertising profiles from it.
  4. One harmless preference is saved. Your light/dark theme choice is stored in your browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device.
  5. You stay in control. Blocking or deleting cookies and site data removes everything the Website has placed on your device. Your rights under data protection law are described in section 9.

3. What the tool processes and why

The entire purpose of the Website is to show you information about an IP address — usually your own. To do that, the page running in your browser sends the address being looked up to independent public services that return the answer. This processing is technically required to deliver the service you asked for; we rely on legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) for it, and no more data is involved than the lookup itself requires.

The Website itself is a set of static files. There is no backend application, no user database, and no lookup history. We do not sell data, and we have nothing to sell.

4. Third-party services your browser contacts

When you load the homepage, your browser queries the following services directly. Each one receives the IP address being looked up (and, as with any web request, can see your IP address, browser user-agent, and the date and time). They act as independent controllers of their own logs:

Several of these providers also offer a fallback chain inside the tool: if one is unreachable, the next is tried. These providers may be located inside or outside the European Economic Area; transfers, where they occur, are governed by the safeguards each provider documents in its own policy.

5. Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (property G-9P4RE1XS3H) to understand aggregate usage — how many people visit, which pages are read, and which browser families dominate. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store your raw IP address; it uses it only briefly to derive a coarse location such as country or city. Events are tied to a random client identifier stored in first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*), which typically persist for up to two years.

Data collected this way is used solely for statistics and site improvement — not for advertising profiles and not shared with advertisers by us. You can prevent measurement entirely by blocking scripts from googletagmanager.com with an ad-blocker or tracking protection, by refusing cookies in your browser, or by using Google’s official opt-out add-on. See also Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from partner sites.

6. Cookies and local storage

The Website sets no advertising cookies and no tracking pixels of its own. Two things are stored on your device:

  1. Theme preference. The key il-theme in local storage remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. It contains one word and never leaves your browser. Clearing site data removes it.
  2. Analytics cookies. The _ga family of cookies described in section 5, set by Google Analytics 4 on our behalf.

Every modern browser lets you view, restrict, or delete cookies and site data in its settings; you can also browse in private/incident-free mode to keep nothing at all. Refusing analytics cookies does not limit any feature of the tool.

7. Server logs and security

Like virtually every website, our hosting provider automatically records short-lived access logs (request time, requested URL, IP address, user-agent, and status code). These logs exist for availability, abuse prevention, and debugging; we do not use them to profile visitors, and we do not enrich them with other data. Retention is limited to the period customary for the hosting platform, after which they are automatically deleted.

The Website is served exclusively over HTTPS (insecure requests are redirected), and its fully static nature means there are no accounts to breach and no personal records to leak.

8. Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a jurisdiction with similar protections, you have rights regarding personal data, including the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Lithuania, the Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija.

Because the Website holds no visitor records, in practice most requests concern the data on your own device (cookies, local storage) which you can delete yourself in seconds, or the records of the third-party providers in section 4, which you can address through their privacy channels. Where anything genuinely remains ours to handle — for example, an email you have sent us — write to info@tuti.lt and we will respond within the statutory period.

9. Children, changes, and how to reach us

Children. The Website is a general-purpose network utility and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and there is no mechanism by which we could.

Changes to this policy. We may update this policy as the service evolves — for example, if a data source is added or removed. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version, and significant changes will be summarised on this page. Continued use of the Website after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Contact. Questions, requests, or complaints about privacy: email info@tuti.lt or see the contact page for what to include.
